CANDU is a short form of Canadian Deuterium Uranium. Deuterium or heavy water is used in this reactor as the reactor’s neutron moderator. This reactor uses Uranium as a fuel which makes this reactor special. This reactor provides almost 15 percent of electricity to Canada.
